Effective Date: August 29, 2012.
On March 20, 2012, the Board of Elections amended this regulation relating to material omissions from candidate petitions. The final regulation was published July 16, 2012, Volume 28, Issue 23 of the Virginia Register (28:23 VA.R. 1700 July 16, 2012) with an effective date upon filing a notice of the United States Attorney General's preclearance with the Registrar of Regulations. The State Board of Elections hereby notices the United States Attorney General's approval of this regulation via a letter dated August 21, 2012, from T. Christian Herren, Jr., Chief, Voting Section, to Joshua N. Lief, Esq., Senior Assistant Attorney General, Office of Attorney General of Virginia. The effective date of this regulation is August 29, 2012.
