Summary:
The proposed amendment repeals the existing section governing live trapping of fox for foxhound training preserves. The conditions for a permit to operate a foxhound training preserve are proposed in 4VAC15-290-160.
4VAC15-110-75.
Foxhound training preserves; live-trapping for release.(Repealed.)It shall be lawful for any foxhound training preserve permittee or those licensed trappers designated in writing by the permittee to live-trap and transport red (Vulpes vulpes) and gray (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) foxes from September 1 through the last day of February, both dates inclusive, only for the purpose of stocking foxhound training preserves covered by permits authorized by the board and issued by the department For the purpose of this section, foxes may be live-trapped on private land with landowner permission or on public lands designated by the department.
