NOTICES OF INTENDED REGULATORY ACTION

PROFESSIONAL AND OCCUPATIONAL LICENSINGBOARD OF MEDICINEChapter 20Notice of Intended Regulatory ActionNotice is hereby given in accordance with § 2.2-4007.01 of the Code of Virginia that the Board of Medicine intends to consider amending the following regulations: 18VAC85-20, Regulations Governing the Practice of Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Podiatry, and Chiropractic. The purpose of the proposed action is to update regulations consistent with current practices of the professions and policies of the board. While Chapter 20 of the Board of Medicine regulations has not had a periodic review since 2004, it has been amended 19 times in the interim. Therefore, the board does not intend to adopt substantive changes to the regulations but will respond to issues raised by comments on the Notice of Intended Regulatory Action.
The agency intends to hold a public hearing on the proposed action after publication in the Virginia Register.
Statutory Authority: § 54.1-2400 of the Code of Virginia.
Public Comments: Public comments may be submitted until 5 p.m. on June 10, 2009.
