PROFESSIONAL AND OCCUPATIONAL LICENSINGDEPARTMENT OF HEALTH PROFESSIONSChapter 20Notice of Intended Regulatory ActionNotice is hereby given in accordance with § 2.2-4007.01 of the Code of Virginia that the Department of Health Professions intends to consider amending 18VAC76-20, Regulations Governing the Prescription Monitoring Program. The purpose of the proposed action is to update the required version for reporting data electronically to the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) and include several new data elements in the report that have been identified as useful in tracking information and providing prescriber feedback reports. The intent of the regulatory action is to make the PMP an even more useful tool in the effort against prescription drug abuse in the Commonwealth.
The agency intends to hold a public hearing on the proposed action after publication in the Virginia Register.
