Tuberculosis infected herds may be depopulated when approved by the State Veterinarian, or the owner may follow a test-and-slaughter program as prescribed in the "Uniform Methods and Rules for Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication," published by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (Code of Federal Regulations Title 9, Chapter I, Parts 1 to 199).
