AGENCY SUMMARY
The Virginia Port Authority is empowered to adopt and enforce reasonable rules and regulations governing (i) the maximum and minimum speed limits of motor vehicles using authority property, (ii) the kinds and sizes of vehicles which may be operated upon authority property, (iii) materials which shall not be transported through or over authority property, and (iv) other matters affecting the safety and security of authority property. Code of Virginia, Title 62.1, Chapter 10.
The authority operates under the supervision of the Secretary of Transportation. Regulations and documents filed by description are available for inspection at the authority's central regional office at 600 World Trade Center, Norfolk, VA 23510 and on the authority's website.
