Section 50. Powers and duties of chairman

  • In addition to any other powers or duties placed upon the chairman by law, these regulations, or other action of the commission, the chairman shall be authorized to:

    1. Request one or more members of the commission or its staff to represent the commission before local governing bodies, before state agencies and legislative committees, or before any other entity where the representation of the commission is requested or where the chairman deems appropriate;

    2. Select or change sites for oral presentations and public hearings;

    3. Defer and reschedule issues the chairman deems appropriate upon consultation with the commission;

    4. Act on behalf of the commission in efforts to resolve disputes between the parties to an issue relative to the production and sharing of data, or with respect to related concerns bearing on the commission's review of an issue; and

    5. Establish upon consultation with the parties an equitable distribution of time for public presentations and to make other arrangements the chairman deems appropriate and consistent with the requirements of law and these regulations for the conduct of the commission's oral presentations and public hearings.
